Land anchors are typically used during steep climbs to aid in keeping the front wheels planted and the nose of the R/C down providing grip. Preload the rope by adding tension to it and hooking it to rocks, trees, roots, other R/Cs, etc. and let the kinetic action help you get over that obstacle. They can also be used with winches to reduce slack in your line.
The land anchor provides a slight downward bite when pulling force is being applied, so it will dig down and into whatever it’s hooked on for better holding strength. Made of high carbon steel so bending this will not be easy.
